Theme and March Route Announced

The Reclaim Pride Coalition (RPC) has announced that this year’s 8th Annual Queer Liberation March (QLM) theme will be:
The Queer Liberation March: Breaking the Chains of War and Oppression for Trans and Immigrant Rights
RPC has also announced that the march will assemble on June 28th at Union Square West at 2:30 PM, step off at 3 PM, and proceed south along Broadway to arrive at Foley Square. The Queer Liberation March continues the resistance to fascism, a protest established by the original Christopher Street Liberation DayMarch, which was preceded by the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
While the Queer Liberation March stands in solidarity with all struggles for liberation, such as the abolitionist and Free Palestine movements, QLM develops a theme each year based on recent worldwide events. Based on the series of attacks the Trump administration has taken against the immigrant and TGNCNB communities, this year’s theme focuses on:
1) The rights of TGNCNB communities, who have been targeted by the administration’s cruelty through hateful documents such as The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, unscientific bans on life-saving, evidence-based gender affirming care, and consistent scapegoating by the American government.
“Trans people are routinely used as scapegoats by those in power seeking to avoid accountability when it comes to addressing any of the actual problems they’re tasked with solving, even though we make up only 1% of the population. I refuse to sit quietly and allow it to continue. We all deserve better than this, and a better world is possible if we make it,” says Founder/President of TQVoices and QLM organizer Jade Runk.
2) The violence waged against black and brown immigrant communities by the political right, replete with unconstitutional kidnappings, unrelenting violence and torture, and the construction of ICE and CBP concentration camps across the nation.
“What we are seeing here is a widening of the carceral state, a system designed to punish in order to uphold state power, capital, and white supremacy through incarceration and surveillance,” says QLM organizer and ACT UP member Jack Hanson. “As we look to build a better world, we must realize that the political machine will not deliver the future we want. We must abolish ICE and all carceral institutions while constructing abolitionist alternatives that affirm life, not devalue and destroy it.”
As the Reclaim Pride Coalition maintains a policy of refusing corporate contributions and has no paid staff, the Queer Liberation March encourages New York’s LGBTQIA2s+ and TGNCNB communities to volunteer, organize, or donate to create a safe, welcoming event for all our March participants.

Reclaim Pride Coalition (RPC) is a New York City-based group of TGNCNB and LGBTQIA2S+ activists in alliance with dozens of national and international grassroots activism groups. RPC’s primary work is organizing the Queer Liberation March.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprisings, RPC mobilized more than 45,000 people to recreate the original 1970 Christopher Street Liberation Day March in June 2019. Since then, QLM has advocated for many liberation struggles, including a Free Palestine and an end to police brutality. QLM is the annual people’s protest march without corporate funding, corporate floats, politicians’ grandstanding, or policing.
